Regency Stick Barometer by Charles Howorth, Halifax

Regency Stick Barometer in a beautifully figured flame mahogany case with satinwood stringing,  boxwood inlay and rectangular cistern cover.

‘’Barometer makers and retailers’’ by Edwin Banfield lists Charles Howorth as working in Halifax from 1823 to 1852. He was a prolific maker of stick and angle barometers with paper plates.
