Refracting mahogany telescope signed ‘Watkins, Charing Cross’.  C.1810

Jeremiah Watkins is listed in Barometer makers and retailers by Edwin Banfield as working from 1799-1819. Opt.math. & phil.IM. 5 Charing Cross, London.

  When the partnership in the name of Jeremiah and Walter Watkins ended, Jeremiah continued on his own until he formed the partnership with Hill.

  He was instrument maker to the Duke of York, the Duke of Clarence and the East India Company.
