French Bronze & Ormolu clock with Automation

Charles X Bronze and Ormolu mounted mantel clock with stepped top surmounted by a gilded figure of Cupid holding silver Bees and with a rocking silver Bee automation.

 

The case on a raised plinth with raised gilded decoration and standing on scroll and leaf gilded feet.  Acanthus leaf, gilded, decorated bezel with silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel ‘moonpoise’ hands.

 

Eight day movement of fine quality with silk suspension with outside countwheel striking the hours and halves on a silvered bell. C.1830
