Fine Edwardian oak cased barograph with bevelled glass panels and central chart drawer.
Ten vacuum chambers linking the recording arm to the eight day movement to the revolving circular drum with lever escapement.
Original brass holder, ink bottle and dipper. Turned pen setting knob to the brass plate bearing the makers name ‘Negretti & Zambra, London’, Made in England and marked ‘Regency’ Jewelled Movement C.1920
‘Negretti & Zambra’ were undoubtedly the most famous barograph and instrument makers of the day. The firm had premises at Hatton Garden, Cornhill, Regent Street and Fleet Street and were appointed ‘Instrument makers to her Majesty’.
