Arts and Crafts Mantel Clock

Arts and Crafts oak cased mantel clock. Two columns with brass capitals support either side of the dial with brass inlay decoration to the front panel.

Copper dial with Arabic numerals and original ‘blued’ steel hands.

Eight day German movement by H.A.C of eight day duration striking the hours and halves on a gong. C.1880

The Hamburg American company was founded in Wurttemburg, Germany in 1883 rapidly becoming a very well known clock manufacturer. The company used several different trade marks but were best known for the ‘crossed arrows’. The company merged with Junghans in 1930
