Regency Mahogany Bracket Clock, William Barrow, Dublin

Regency bracket clock housed in a finely figured mahogany brass bound case with chamfer top.  Side carrying handles, silk lined sound frets and glazed rear door, standing on ball feet and surmounted by a brass pineapple finial.

Painted dial with Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel hands signed William Barrow, Dublin.

Eight day double Fusee movement of fine quality with pull repeat facility, striking the hours on a large silvered bell, with regulating pendulum and holdfast. C.1805.

 

‘Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world’ by Brian Loomes lists William Barrow as working in Dublin c.1805.
