Directoire Ormolu Portigo Clock
A Directoire Ormolu with black marble French pillar clock, three and a half inch enamel dial with Roman numerals signed Viven Fils a Epernay with chased gilt bezel. Bell striking silk suspension eight day movement, the backplate with outside countwheel strike also signed Viven, with visible gilded starburst pendulum.
The drum case surmounted by a figure of Napolean in front of a triumphal arch and flanked by a pair of Griffins above gilded and ornately turned pillars set on rectangular plinths resting on a black marble base, standing on four chased and engraved feet. C.1795
