Enamel dial with Roman numerals, ‘blued’ steel hands signed ‘Henry Browne, London.

Eight day spring driven movement with platform escapement c. 1900

Henry Browne and Son Ltd, based in Barking (Essex) and London. The company were renowned for the manufacture of compasses, clocks and scientific instruments. They supplied instruments for Spitfires, Tigermoths, Lifeboats etc. the company also manufactured movement under the ‘Sestrel’ trademark. In the early 1970’s they provided the instrumentation for Concorde.
