Miniature Library Bracket Clock by Just, London

 

Miniature library clock house in a finely figured mahogany case, stepped top with bevelled glass viewing aperture resting on a stepped moulded plinth and standing on four pad feet.  Bevelled glass side panels and back door of the case.

 

Cast brass bezel with convex glass opening to the enamel dial with Roman numerals, original ‘blued’ steel hands with centre sweep seconds hand signed ‘L.Just, London’.

 

Eight day chain fusee timepiece movement of fine quality with platform escapement, the movement backplate also signed L.Just, London and retains it’s original escapement dust cover.  C.1800

 

Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world’ by Brian Loomes lists Leonard Just as working in London from 1790 – 1844.
