Round dial wall clock with slim mahogany surround.
Heavy cast brass bezel opening to a painted dial with Roman numerals and original finely cut ‘blued’ steel spade hands signed ‘John Greenwood, Canterbury’.
Eight day fusee movement with arched brass plates, anchor escapement and original lenticular bob pendulum. C.1835
John Greenwood is recorded as being both a watchmaker and clockmaker working in Canterbury from 1832 to 1840. Examples of his work are held in both the Maidstone and Canterbury museums. John Greenwood is also listed as being based in Rochester c.1815
