Fine mahogany bell top case standing on pad feet with brass carrying handle and glazed side windows.

Brass dial with finely matted centre, raised chapter ring with Roman numerals, original ‘blued’ steel hands and a silvered cartouche in the arch signed ‘John Pyke, Bedford Row, London.

Substantial eight day quarter chiming movement chiming the quarters on a nest of silvered bells and hourly strike on a large coiled gong. The backplate is beautifully engraved as are the matching brackets and pendulum bob. C.1730
