Canted brass bezel surrounding an enamel dial with Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel hands.
Eight day single train movement with platform escapement mounted on the backplate marked V.A.P. C.1860
VAP was the mark used by Victor – Anathase Pierret. ‘Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world’ by Brian Loomes lists Victor – Anathase Pierret as being born in 1806 and died in 1893. He invented lampclocks with turning globe marked with hour fingers.
