Rosewood case with satinwood stringing and carved base. Two piece enamel dial with Roman numerals, original hands and pie crust bezel.  ‘A’ frame plated eight day movement with single weight. The dial signed ‘August Tasche in Wein.  C.1850

‘‘Vienna Regulators and related clocks’’ by Rick Ortenburger lists August Tasch as a maker of big clocks and a civic master clockmaker working in Vienna c.1840.
