Art Nouveau Mantel Clock

 

Art Nouveau mantel clock in a fine mahogany case profusely inlaid with brass, pewter and satinwood.

 

Brass bezel with bevelled glass opening to an enamel dial with Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel hands signed ‘Ollivant & Botsford, Manchester.

 

Eight day French movement striking the hours and halves on a coiled gong marked for A.D.Mougin and numbered 36702. c.1900

 

A.D.Mougin was a well known French clockmaker who was located at Rue De Turenne, Paris in the mid nineteenth century also in Herimoncourt in the Montbeliard region. The company won two gold medals at the Paris Exhibition.
