Victorian Porcelain Panel Carriage Clock

Victorian brass cased Carriage clock, finely engraved with beautiful hand painted porcelain panels containing far eastern scenes featuring classical palaces and rivers.

Eight day French movement numbered 149 with original platform escapement. The movement marked ‘RC’, for Richard et Cie. C.1870

Richard et Cie were prolific makers of fine carriage clocks. The company was founded in Paris in 1848 and added a branch in London in 1867 and carried on trading until c.1881.
