Victorian Brass Lantern Clock

Victorian brass lantern clock with beautifully engraved dial, silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and blued steel ‘Moonpoise’ hands signed ‘Dyson, Windsor’.

French eight day movement striking the hours and halves inside a centrally mounted silvered bell.  C.1890.

‘Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world’ by Brian Loomes lists Dyson of Windsor and Eton (Berkshire) as working from late nineteenth century to 1905 he was ‘clockmaker to the King’.
