French Kingwood Cartel clock in a beautifully figured case with ormolu mounts.  Enamel dial with Roman numerals and fine gilded hands signed ‘Planchon a Paris’.

Eight day movement striking the hours and halves on a silvered bell.  C.1870

‘Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world’ by Brian Loomes lists Planchon as working at the Palais Royale in Paris from 1870 to 1900
